Independence Park Condominium

“Kevin designed a new master bathroom for us. The job involved a complete gut and reconfiguration of an existing bathroom. His design made maximum use of the space and added tremendous storage. His attention to detail was extraordinary and the final result is spectacular.”

– Mark P., Homeowner

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Overlooking the Museum of the American Revolution, this full-floor condo underwent a renovation to simplify its traditional aesthetic with a modern look. The project scope began with a primary bath renovation that extended to the main living area.

Dominated by an outdated soaking tub, the former bath featured a small vanity, confined spaces, and little storage. In place of the original tub, kYd redesigned the room with a smaller undermount tub separated from a generous, curbless shower by a glass panel. A custom cherry vanity and both enclosed and open cabinetry towers provide ample storage to keep the room tidy. Integral pulls and no visible hardware on the drawers contribute to a clean, minimal appearance. Natural teak sandstone tile establishes a neutral palette, which is complemented by subtly striated gray and white porcelain tile and white quartz counters. Both the shower and tub feature custom wall storage niches.

In the living room, kYd removed an awkward set of stairs to a former fire escape, which enabled the windowsill moldings to be restored for continuity across the room’s expanded view. Applique crown and base moldings were removed in favor of new, streamlined trim. New hardwood flooring replaced dated wall-to-wall carpeting.
