kYd Associate, Designer, and Projects Director Omar Zaater has earned the Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (CKBD) credential from the National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA). To earn the credential, Omar completed a curriculum of online coursework, passed a fundamental exam, and underwent a portfolio evaluation. The CKBD designation means Omar understands industry standards, best practices, and the NKBA Planning Guidelines, and has demonstrated design excellence.
“Gaining this knowledge and credential has helped me become a better designer,” said Omar. “Designing to NKBA standards requires a level of technical knowledge and documentation beyond general functionality and aesthetics that really benefits our clients and projects.”
NKBA is the world’s leading trade association for the kitchen and bath industry, providing tools, research, certification, and events to thousands of professionals. Omar’s history with NKBA extends to his time at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, where his student work earned recognition in the NKBA student awards program.
