Philadelphia Primary Bath

project gallery

“Kevin paid attention to every little item – things we never would have thought were important. This focus on the details added up to a space that is perfect in every way.”

– Alice L., Homeowner

kYd provided a complete redesign of a primary bathroom, replacing a dark and dated shower enclosure and separate bathtub with a modern natural stone spa shower with ultra-clear glass. Although not designed intentionally for accessibility, the shower’s curbless, roll-in tile floor means it meets universal design standards.

The redesigned bathroom accommodates a custom wall-mounted cherry vanity with recessed pulls. Cove lighting in the shower creates the illusion of a hidden natural light source while visually increasing the ceiling height. Functional and ambient lighting fixtures provide additional illumination in the windowless room. Color variations and veining in the shower’s Burma Teak stone tile are accented by its random ashlar arrangement.

We had some ideas about how we wanted to approach the project. Kevin listened very carefully to what we said and built the plan by creatively refining and expanding on our ideas. He focused not only on the appearance of the space, but the functionality.
